Elizabeth

Updated: Feb 25, 2019

Elizabeth's wish was to meet her life-long idol, Eminem. Her condition was deteriorating rapidly so we had to move quickly on her wish.

Elizabeth was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in February 2016, relapsed June 2016 and went to heaven on May 6, 2017...one month after receiving her wish.

Elizabeth's wish was to meet her life-long idol, Eminem. Her condition was deteriorating rapidly so we had to move quickly on her wish. The morning we met, she sent me a text message sounding discouraged because the doctors had just tole her they were only giving her about 2 months to live. She said she knew that wouldn't be enough time for us to make her wish come true. Little did she know, we had already had this plan in motion! She was so excited when she learned that she WOULD get to meet Eminem. I received THREE text messages from Cookeville back to Nashville of her telling me how excited she was and thanking us for making her life-long dream a reality.

Elizabeth was able to stay at the Beverly Hills Hilton hotel, which is super fancy! The morning she met Marshall, she wasn't feeling well. She actually got sick a couple of times before he came in the room to visit with her. We were hoping it was just her nerves but unfortunately it was her cancer making her so sick. Once he came in the room, her face lit up. She was so happy. It was almost like her sickness had gone away. He gave her lots of goodies, they took lots of photos and she talked to him about how much he meant to her and how his music had gotten her through some of the roughest times in her life. You could tell he genuinely cared about what she had to say and he was emotionally moved by her story.

After the meet and greet Elizabeth got in the car and was immediately sick again. She and her dad stayed in LA for 2 more days but she really wasn't able to go out exploring. Once her flight arrived back in Nashville she was immediately taken to Children's Hospital where she remained for a while before heading back to her dads house where hospice would help take care of her until she passed.

We are so thankful to have met Elizabeth and to have been able to give her and her dad this amazing memory.
